Day 1 (22.07.06)

Skagen - Jerup

34.12 km or 21.19 miles

In the morning we all walked out to the very tip of Skagen. Then we set off southwards through the dunes. There was a massive motorbike festival, and our bike route took us through their big camp, which was actually a little scary as all these hardy bikers whizzed passed us! We decided to stop at Jerup, where we were collected by our brilliant support team (Mum, Dad, Gabby and Charlote,) who took us back to Sindal, where we were staying that night.

Laura, Jamie and Charlotte, by the tip of Skagen.

Jamie and Laura, about to set off from Skagen.

About Azafady »

Azafady is a registered UK charity and Malagasy NGO, which works in southeast Madagascar with local communities on nature conservation, health and education.

About Madagascar »

Madagascar is the world's fourth largest island. It has an absolutely staggering diversity of plant and animal species, 80% of which are found nowhere else on the planet. However, while one of the biologically richest places on Earth; it is also one of the world’s poorest countries. The country typically spends as much on debt repayments each year as it does on health and education combined.
