Day 9 (01.08.06)

Rønne - Nexø - Svaneke - Allinge - Rønne

42.46 km or 26.37 miles

Mum and Edward arrived in Rønne after breakfast on the ferry from Ystad. After cups of tea and tales of the Seychelles from Edward, the four of us (Laura, Edward, Jamie and Charlotte) set off on a bus to Nexø in order to pick up from where we had left off the day before. We stopped in the pretty town of Svaneke for lunch and then carried on along the hilly route to Allinge. We stopped at a workshop called BalticSeaGlass to see glass being blown and at Allinge we visited an old sweet shop to buy some traditional Danish “bolcher”. We then got the bus back to Picaroon in Rønne, where Mum and Dad were waiting for us, having been on a bike ride of their own, to see some of the round churches of Bornholm.

About Azafady »

Azafady is a registered UK charity and Malagasy NGO, which works in southeast Madagascar with local communities on nature conservation, health and education.

About Madagascar »

Madagascar is the world's fourth largest island. It has an absolutely staggering diversity of plant and animal species, 80% of which are found nowhere else on the planet. However, while one of the biologically richest places on Earth; it is also one of the world’s poorest countries. The country typically spends as much on debt repayments each year as it does on health and education combined.
